I had this idea on the fly today, so the video is a little (or a lot) haphazard. Here’s a really good tutorial on recycling plastic bags. I’m also mostly kidding about the recycled stuff looking like junk – I think this could be really cute if I had actually spent time on it.
Anyway, to answer your question, the table is kind of short but mostly I’m really tall.
I went to Chicago for work so I didn’t get to wander around as much as I would have liked, but I did find some time to go to the Art Institute of Chicago which was pretty awesome (although I think I may have accidentally missed an entire wing). They had several Joseph Cornell pieces:
As well as a fairly extensive William Eggleston exhibit which I will probably write a separate post about because I enjoyed it so much.
Baltimore only has a few really tall buildings so I enjoyed the Chicago skyline.
Upon returning to Baltimore I was immediately swept to Ocean City, where we stayed in a condo that hasn’t been updated since like 1960.
Also, MIRRORS.
We went to Assateague where we saw exactly zero wild ponies.
But we did see Jesus on the boardwalk.
Now I’m back here and I have to go back to work tomorrow! Not quite as much fun!
haha I just thought all that “Mariza and her fan” stuff was funny. But srsly that fan is pretty sweet. It was quite the arts n’ crafts project – there was much glitter glue involved. My face is covered with glitter just from taking that picture. My class has spent the last couple months learning famous dancers’ routines; I did this one:
My fan was not quite as magnificent but still pretty awesome (I had to do silver since I don’t have a gold costume). I also had to cut out the part where she gets carried in on a litter since I couldn’t build a litter in time (was too busy working on the fan). So that’s what I did on Monday.
Saturday I am going to a morning drum solo choreography workshop and in the afternoon I’ll be in my former teacher’s spring showcase – two group pieces and a solo. It’ll be fun but I’ll also be glad when it’s over so I can relax a little.
I was hoping to have the site redesign up this week but now I’m not so sure. I like being busy but time sure gets away from me! I will try to at least get the weekly-ish video up.
Baby, I’m sorry I ain’t been around. To make it up to you, here are two somewhat lame journal videos for the price of one!!!!
After April 10 I should be free of most of the things that are occupying me. Hopefully I’ll return to a more regular posting schedule; maybe I’ll even write a few overly long and self-indulgent posts, just like the good old days! And maybe I can also redesign the site, which I’ve only been promising to do since day 1. Promises, promises!
